12:33pm @ work.

LOL, sadly there may be something to the story heh, though I believe there should be a fan in the office, to keep the machinery cool…

My parents connection is especially bad, they ping 38 to their gateway alone (“Premium” DSL). I’ve tried my modem and it’s still the same result, I’ve called and talked to a tech at CityWest at least 3 times about it and I’ve e-mailed once. Basically they don’t know why it’s pinging ~37 more then it should be and that’s all there is to it.

Now imagine that on top of all the peak and ping time issues that has “absolutely nothing to do with CityWest”. Very, very poor service.

Another evening of Internet suckage. :imp:

Who’s hosting the server in Prince Rupert?

It says “sponsored by Citywest Cable and Telephone”.

Yes it does. Man I’m a brilliant one.

Awesome!

Problem:  customers are complaining that when using speedtest.net, they are seeing slow connections.

Solutions:  host a speedtest.net server, so that customers using speedtest.net will see results of a LOCAL connection rather than an internet connection.

It’s like a reality distortion field.  Now they can tell you to try speedtest.net when you complain of slow internet.  Even though you’re really testing their local network, not the internet.

Pretty miserable connection to the internet this afternoon.

But all the same, the connection from my modem to Citytel (www2.citytel.net) is just fine:

Oh yeah? Take a look at these results and see how Citywest’s server is doing:

But of course none of this is CityWest’s fault.  :unamused:

Interesting , here’s CityWest’s server:

And about a minute later the same test using a Vancouver server:

Quite a difference.

Well here I am hours later to Citywest.

If this keeps up I’m definitely calling them.

LOL i guess it’s much easier to set up a local speedtest server than to fix the actual problem.

Now this just proves how crappy our IN-town ping is too.

gg shittywest.

Well hot damn! It’s my ‘recommended server’, too!
