No wonder all that goat porn I’ve been downloading from you is so slow!
LMAO
Well it is early in the morning so CityWest is nice and fast now. But, this pm it will probably suck again. I sure hope CityWest can at some point fix this bandwidth issue.
12:41pm. Sadly, this is the best it’s been for me in a long time.
Well I sent in an email to Greg yesterday complaining about my results. I received no response but suddenly my speed is almost 7 times faster.

Well faster to the Citywest server. It still sucks ass once the signal goes out to the rest of the world.
The thing is, I find, that even the “higher” scores that we all get by connecting to the local speedtest host, are rates that I used to be able to expect to Vancouver.
That seems pretty damned slow considering that it’s only going a few kilometers.
I’m with you on that Eso. We’ve lost a lot of service. There’s no denying it.
I agree Mike and Eso. Our service is poor particularly when compared to other broadband users living outside of PR.
I’ve had the same experience with CityWest, Mike. That is, Greg does not return e-mails.
Posting this from a motel room in Cache Creek. Funny, it listed Spokane, WA (Spokanistan!) as my recommended server.
Mind you, no one else is probably awake at 6:45am on a Saturday, but here’s what I got…
It is morning so the speed is good within Rupert.

The speed to Vancouver is good as well.

But, the speed will no doubt suck later when more people log-on.
The speed wasn’t too bad when I was still awake at 6am… but then again I wasn’t downloading so I couldn’t care less.
I would be very happy with that here if the speeds were consistent. It sucks for CityWest customers when download speeds drop to < 700 kb/sec in the evening. Oh well.
http://smilies.sofrayt.com/^/k/dontknow.gif i don’t know what you guy’s are complaining about city west internet ROCKS http://smilies.sofrayt.com/^/_950/guitar.gif i get speeds that are so fast i can not even use speedtest sometimes!! …http://smilies.sofrayt.com/^/d/spock.gif oops hang on hang on… ok my bad sorry guys real sorry i was wrong it’s just going so slow its not loading… with a goddam connection speed of 54mbs ya citywest internet licks ballshttp://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/u/bgcool.gif they need to get there shit together. i would have to say that the tech dept, the boss and the internet dept need to get off there ass and fix it!! not give reasons why it can’t be fixed. i for one will be inline the first day we have anyother service provider that is better!http://smilies.sofrayt.com/^/0/instagib.gif
Cable (I think) connection in Fort Langley:

And to Prince Rupert:
Finally! In a discussion with a guy I know recently, Citywest admitted that the ADSL modem you receive is only as fast as the card you’re plugged into “at” Citywest. Also they throttle each connection’s bandwidth at the switch.
For once they confirmed what everyone knows; no more lying about it. Maybe the mindset is finally changing there.
My ¢2
Well the mindset might be changing, but near as I can see it’s not making a heck of a lot difference in the final product arriving at our homes…

Was playing DOD:S at my brother’s place in Vancouver yesterday, with a ping that never got above 30 or so milliseconds.
