Out of curiosity, how come none of us is running a local webradio station, chock full of stolen music?
Cos there’s already about a million others out there to choose from.

Yeah the radio becomes like a disease after listening to the same 5 songs for 6 months straight… you hear 5 seconds of that noise pollution and you’ll be humming it for hours on end.

But you can listen to CFNR! All AC/DC, all the time.
I would like to listen to CFNR on a daily basis. BUT! I cannot pick up the FM signal. 
So it’s me and Cheryl and that stupid whistling song.
I would like to dedicate the next stupid song, probably around 4:00 when it comes on again. Dedicate it too THE MIX!!!

I have my cable hooked to my stereo and get about 15 stations. Rock101 and JackFM being the the two I listen to the most with some CBC in there as well. Oh and they are in full FM stereo sound too. Most people I think dont know you can hook up your cable to your stereo.
If your radio has FM ant hookups just get an adapter so you can connet the cable to one end and the other to your radio. Cost is like 5 bucks or less. Been a while since I bought one though.
I changed my mind. Both radio stations suck. Too much AC/DC, and too much of the same ol mix. But it’s good too hear some 80’s stuff that I have not heard for awhile.
Does the Mix get paid to play certian songs? If not who’s running the show over there? Im sure if they did a survey they would realize they have a bad taste in music.
Has anyone else realized they play Lighting crashes by Live, and Under the brigde by RHCP. I dont get it? they throw those 2 songs in with all this cheryl crap stuff.

The answer is that those genuises in MIX management will actually swear up and down that every survey they’ve done says they are playing the music most youth and young adults want to hear. But, yeah, they get paid to play certain songs more often, and they are in cahoots with record companies and will occasionally blacklist bands that piss off the companies (see the movie, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster for an example of that and just because it’s a great movie).
A friend of mine used to work for CFNR, and as long as they played the required amount of Canadian talent, he could play any other tunes he wanted to, provided they didn’t have nasty lyrics of course.
My ex would actually sit on the phone with the guy for 4 hours of his shift, programming his show for him. Those were the days that you didn’t hear AC/DC 3 times in an hour, and instead you heard older more obscure songs and bands, and lotsa hard rock.
That’s must have been sweat smartass. An almost legal way to take of a network. Bring back those days. Or the mix should hire your X!
They are going to play “Hollandback Girl” at around 3:15 today.
That song seriously makes me wanna vomit. There isnt even an spoon full of tallent in that song.
