I had planned to head out to edmonton during spring break to do some work I’ve been pushing back since last January. That didn’t happen either but I don’t think I want to spend my summer in AB so… maybe the fall?

Even if I can legally go visit the grand daughter in Terrace I haven’t seen in a year and a half, it would be pretty irresponsible to travel 600km to “visit”, wouldn’t it?
On the other hand, it’s necessary to go 175 km to see the eye doctor, any specialist, or get any kind of medical test from these parts. And silly not to mask up and hit Costco for twice as much for a dollar less while you’re at it. I believe it’s going to be broken down by regions not Health Authority from what I understand, though not really enforced. I think the main enforcement will be on BC Ferries to the Island.
They now say Northern Health people are OK in the Interior Health region. That’s 3/4 of the province!

Our friend’s 42 yr old son has been on a ventilator in Lethbridge hospital for a week now. They fired a 20 something at her work for ripping off his mask and shouting about Covid being bullshit in front of customers a few days ago. She said if the supervisor hadn’t canned his ass and hustled him out the door in two minutes, she would’ve beaten on the guy herself, she’d warned him a dozen times and wrote him up for not wearing the mask over his nose.
The girl who lives across the street and works at the Clinic took her kids to visit the inlaws in Alberta for a week, came back and went to work the very next day.

I was speaking to a cashier at Safeway this morning. She said that they were informed at a staff meeting that there are 2-3 Covid-19 cases in town. We’re not at zero anymore friends. I’m masking up in stores. The Wednesday numbers from the BC Centers for Disease Control will likely reflect this change.
It’s all over. No need to wipe down the shopping cart handles, sterilize hand baskets or dust and face the shelves. Staff can go back to fucking the dog.
