I think that would count as a "direct geographical reference. Try one of these instead:

  1. Is this place located in a country where the seasons are roughly the opposite of Canada?

  2. Is this place located in a country where the time is more than seven hours ahead of us?

For 1 yes

For 2 yes (I’m not entirely sure though and it’s nearly 5am so I’m not going to google it)

18…

I would have thought “Is this in the southern hemisphere?” would be a direct geographical question, but wording it the way I did would not.

Oh well… I’ll go back to just watching these games… I’m too dumb to think like that.

HINT: The main industry here is tourism.

Is it within an 800 mile radius of a country where the people use the word “root” in the same way we use the “F-word?”

It is Australia.

and its 8,000m , not 800m

No. 17…

Go back to previous games to figure out the rules!

I said miles, not metres.

ok, let’s see what is special about this place.

Was this place damaged by the Indian Ocean Tsunami?

I don’t think so, but as another hint there WAS a natural disaster a while ago that affected it…

Was this natural disaster a volcanic eruption?

No

Is the country below 20’ S?

Was this a British colony in the past?

I don’t think it ever was a British colony in the past.

Another hint: This country does NOT have a military force.

Is the significance of this place historical?
