so could a small cramped mexican restaurant with fat $5 burritos, a jukebox that plays jaunty mexican music, free tortilla chips, cheap horchata, maybe a take-out window, and serves mexican hot chocolate. it’d be like a little vacation in every visit [/quote]
Oh GAWD YES…that sounds amazing. Completely disregard my previous comment that we don’t need another restaurant.
Real quesadillas with goat cheese, itty bitty little limes, cilantro in everything…bring it!!
Beans’n’rice…beans’n’rice…beans’n’rice…and Dos Equis…mmmmmmmmm
Also we need Korean BBQ, Mongolian Grill, Greek, and Malaysian cuisine restaurants.
Problem is we don’t have anybody above to make authentic stuff… except for the Malaysian. =.=’
There used to be a Mongolian Grill in P.G.
If you guessed the weight of your selection when you gave it to the chef, you ate free.
I’ve been waiting 22 years for a real szechuan place in PG. Lots have a few dishes, but that’s it. There’s a place in Vanderhoof where you just ask the chef and he’ll be so happy he’ll whip up a whole meal and bring samples of what he likes, and sit and chat your ear off! These cowboys and Indians and Mennonites don’t like flavour very much do they? he told us one night.
There are quite a few restaurants in Prince Rupert. However, with the exception of one or two, these restaurants are the pits.
I used to really like the old PegLegs, before it changed owners. It was kid-friendly, had a great menu and was reasonably priced. The decor of the place, however, did need some updating.
If you are going to open a restaurant and are not going to open a chain like Whitespot or BPs, why not try something along the lines of the old PegLegs. Just to clarify, I don’t necessary mean it has to be a ‘pirate’ restaurant when I say it should be like PegLegs.
You may have something here…( was it DeGreef’s)
It was called: ‘DeGreef Delicatessen’ if I remember well. By the way, what has happened to this great store…why did it close shop? I used to shop there in the 60’s and 70’s, they had great smoked sausages, cold cuts and a great selection of cheeses and also an assortment of pastry
if you think im in high school your mistaken. im not religious i just feel aanunciation is a better school than our public schools here .
i have seen the difference in my son to the friends he has met in other schools . i also like the fact they have homework everyday and have a full time gym teacher. i pay my public school taxes but prefer to pay extra to send my kids to go to annunciation because i think it is a better school.
that is my opinion
~People are saying we don’t need ANOTHER restaurant, but I think the thread starter said s/he is already running a restaurant, so if s/he was to change the atmosphere or theme, then it would just be a DIFFERENT one, not ANOTHER one.
Yes thank u it was what i started this thread for!!!I manage a restaurant/bar in Prince Rupert for my family!!!I would like to get away from this business because of the bar part.I would like to be independent so i can utilize my cooking ability and excellent customer service skills.I am now looking into the SEB program to maybe start up peglegs again.I want a fun place to take my kids that doesn’t have Mc in the name.I truly would like to have a family entertainment place like Ruckers. But our population is to small.Just finished talking to their rep(ruckers rep). They are based out off Saskatoon. So that idea is gone to the wind.So I’m a good cook with a addictive personality.Any ideas???Maybe the old owners for peglegs will give me a chance???Cheers!!!
you ever read archies . how about pop tates
great burgers with some kickass milkshakes sorta like gondolas menu but tasting like fast food . made fresh to order. jukebox some video games
And desserts, real desserts!
I am tired of all the restaurants buying their desserts from the same supplier! Please, no more molten lava chocolate cakes!
A.
So you think and feel but don’t know it’s a better school. LOL
At least it does have a full-time PE teacher unlike the rest. The best money can ever buy.
I attended Pineridge for the whole elementary period and I’ve been assigned homework at the beginning of Grade 3; just like any other elementary schools does. My Grade 2 teacher even used to keep me after school just to make sure I get the math right before I left the door. :-D
Other than that, having elementary homework everyday doesn’t magically make a kid turn into a super nerd by Grade 8. Parents are responsible to make sure that kid understand the curriculum and keep a good study habit.
If we MUST have another restaurant, then how about a good old fashioned diner? Real home-cooked food like meatloaf and mash and gravy, real buttermilk deep-fried chicken, hearty stews and soups, spaghetti and meatballs, and lots of “mile high” meringue pies! No pretentious or theme food, just good stick to your ribs home cookin’ ! Yum !!
Codybear i already have a restaurant!!!I don’t want to build a new one i just want to revamp an original one!!!I’m exactly that kind of cook!!!I love real food not fake ahhh so pretty food.We were at one time just that kind of food but it didn’t keep us going.Because we weren’t fancy customers wanted the food for McDonald’s prices. Can’t be done!!!I don’t fell our prices were to high???Example of a typical dinner special Homemade BBQ beef ribs with b/p &salad or soup to start $10.50?Deal I think.Huge plates but we could hardly make ends meet so we got a liquor lic.Which has ruined my love for this business. But that’s just me!!!
which restrant do you own that sells bbq rib dinner for $10 thats a stellar deal
Oooooh, that sounds yummy! And that certainly is a great price. Would have been a great deal for myself and my fella What restaurant do you own? PM me if it is a secret, I won’t tell
I am sorry to hear you have lost your passion for your work as it sounds like you had a good thing going and it is just what Rupert needs. I know that we would go for the love of old fashioned, home-made comfort food. Do you make a good meatloaf?
Where is this place in vanderhoof. I will be stopping there for gas might as well make a food stop as well. Fuck prince george every time i stop there my car gets broken into.
Under restaurants, I would love to see a lil donair/shwarma/shish kebab place that has middle eastern foods like satsiki/humous w/pita and falafel…ohhhh and baklava too!
As for for new businesses…maybe the city could make some $ by opening a zipline course through Mclinemount (I know I have spelled it incorrectly, but you know the place) Park.
I’m looking into opening up a keg, does anyone want to go partners with me,
its only 1 million dollars.
