pizza hut is not closing all you have to do is pick up the phone and ask them
Good to hear didnt want to lose my stuff crust options.
They’re not leaving Rupert!
“we will start an aggressive Superstore refurb program and No Frills expansion in the West. This will impact 25 Superstores over the next 12 months, 20 more Extra Foods conversions to No Frills over the same time period, and we are targeting 20-plus new-site No Frills in urban locations in the West over the next two years.”
This just in they vote next week if the vote is turned down they are leaving rupert…
Well, let’s keep our fingers crossed that they vote positively then, if not for their sakes alone.
Yes lets hope, tho some people seem confused they think if they vote no then they wont get pay cuts or reduced hours etc…which in a sence is true…theyll just get a free pass out the door into the unemployment line…
I heard that it is closing. Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong about that. I don’t think it is their usual winter hiatus. I think this is permanent. Sad indeed.
I like how Zorbas advertises 2 for 1, but really its get second one half price
Yes its closing for sure I know the owner well he wants to persue a career with the rcmp.
Wasn’t the owner from Terrace and owner of the Terrace Pizza Hut as well? If so is he closing that one also?
Gnny you would think that a Tim Horton’s owner would be more interested in a police job than a Pizza store owner.
excellent… give him a police cruiser and a video camera.
No it’s not, I used to work there…
Ok they changed it, its now 2 for 1 in big font and in little font below it 5$ off
Prince Rupert Extra Foods negotiations update
November 27, 2009
On November 27, Loblaws again asked the Labour Relations Board (LRB) to conduct a vote on their so-called “last offerâ€
and yet the LRB is setting up a vote…guess they must not think the unions claims have a leg to stand on…
Hes right my husband got home from work today and told me the vote is on the 7th. Its supervised by LRB, the union reccomends we vote no which makes no sence cause then theyd close the store and we wouldnt get any money. Im glad that well finally be able to get this matter settled, Im a little tired of stressing over his job and wheather or not we will havbe food on our table next month. All the workers have letters stating that there is no option basically they are closing extra foods operations in janurary (on the 30th as i read our letter) so if the no frills contract isnt accepted then its layoff city
And you come by this interpretation with your vast knowledge of labour law?
Perhaps they’re holding the vote, but as requested by the union, the ballot box will be sealed and the results won’t be released pending a hearing on the number of outstanding labour complaints filed against the employer.
Either way that doesnt make a difference, a business has the right to close operations at any time and they stated if there is not a no frills contract in place before january then there will not be a store to work at period Even if the lrb returns the hearing in the favour of our union the store will be closing. Its pretty much a has to accept kinda thing, our union seems more concerned with winning the battle as it were and dont really care if the store closes. The information we have been presented with has only recently come to light. This all started back in June but our union has witheld the information about the contract from us and has been delaying showing us anything. In fact my husband wouldnt even know the contents of the proposed contract if the employer had not posted it in his lunch room to see. Maybe if we had seen it earlier this year we could have had some imput into making comprimises we all would have been happy with instead of being put into this shotgun vote for work.
Sounds like the union is focusing more on the big picture than on the local store.
This is hilarious, in respone to smurfette I actually do know a few things about labour laws and under no circumstances are employers ever required by law to disclose there financial information to justify a change in business practices. They are not required to show financial data when they close proving they need to close nor do they need to show they are not financially stable at there current operating costs before they make a decision to change such costs. They can be asked to but it is not law its just a stab. And from the previous post it sounds like the union is as much to blame as the employer for th “situation”.
