You’ve been away so long and this is the best you could come up with?

Man how disappointing, you’re off your game ajaye!

lol sooooooo funny ajaye but as everyone knows Chances pays their property taxes monthly instead of once a year, so they might be having problems but shutting down rightttttt there goes 13 million building costs down the tube

This thread is infected with pure awesomeness…ajaye returns in fine form.

losing money or just profit, i think the parking lot speaks for it self day or night those people aren’t in there eating there throwing oh i mean gaming (gambling). oh and two beer and wine store’s i don’t think so.

I’m still waiting for Chances to fulfill their responsibility to finish the landscaping.

Chances eh? Good if they are. Ha. Tell 'em to pay their goddamn taxes UP TO THE CURRENT YEAR or LETS SELL THEIR BUILDING and THEIR ASSETS FOR PEANUTS LIKE THE CITY WOULD DO TO ANY OTHER RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER. Did you know they can sieze your house now for delinquent UTILITIES? How the City gets away with that being legal and without the residents of Prince Rupert standing up against that is beyond me.

/True but I’m trollin’ here

Not closing good one Ajaye

I think craig from prince george built this place thinking we were going to boom, the cost of the
project cost several millions more and know he is in trouble. From what im hearing is that the rupert
hotel is in trouble and they are going to down scale the income is just not there,as a city we need to
help everyone who wants to do business big or small and we also need to do our homework just look
whats happening in europe you can ownly go to the well so many times then one day there is nothing
left.

Wow a complete reversal of your past review of our future,

" thinking we were going to boom"

You mean we aren’t?

What lesson do we need to learn from Europe Ajaye?

Please share?

I highly doubt it…I was in there on Saturday night and your couldn’t find a seat in the restaurant as it was packed.

The parking lot is pretty much full almost every evening of the year, so I just don’t believe it.

The beauty of our democratic society is the ability to speak freely. Chances Prince Rupert is a viable business and has been since it open in 2007. Yes it feels the economic down turn just like any other business. The rumour that it is closing is purely that and the misinformation and unfounded speculation is unfortunate. Long live free enterprise !

Ajaye, I resent the fact that we were guilted into approving Chances in the first place because gaming money is used to support local charities. Ironically many of the charities that receive money from gaming are dealing with people/families who have trouble controlling their overspending at the casino. I was the bingo rep for an organization during the bingo hall era and bigwigs from the lottery corp would come in and tell us to encourage our people to go to the bingo hall. I wondered if we got money from liquor and cigarette sales would we be encouraging people to drink and smoke more.

I like to think I support local business, but consider what you are saying. If I decide to spend my “dinners out” money at Chances then I have to stop supporting businesses like Dolly’s or Stardust, or Gondola and a few other restaurants that I enjoy. Other people will have their favourites. Which of those local businesses do you want us to stop supporting.

If people decide to spend their “entertainment” budget playing casino games, then then they would have to stop supporting events at the Lester Centre or the Tom Rooney theatre. or maybe they have stop buying magazines from Eddies or forego a movie or a Rampage game. Maybe they won’t buy a computer game or go to the swimming pool. Maybe they would have to stop participating in an activity at the Civic Centre. Which of those local activities do you want us to stop supporting?

Shit, don’t let Citywest hear you say that!

Better yet, if suffering just let the city purchase the place, they could write off the debt and start all over again, greatest business plan in the world!

I heard the same thing too. They are broke!

What are the " Chances " that one day nobody responds to one of your posts… lol… you always get the last laugh aj…

Well said enough of these rumors Prince Rupert this whole town is full of them.

Have heard this rumour as well. Figured this was going to happen when it opened its doors. They are going to say the need live gaming tables to make it, or their doors will close.
