Dear Data Boy

Do you guys realize the cost of a broken window?

Its going to be at least 2000 3000$

Yep.  Rob stated that in his first sign…1500 bucks to replace the broken window.

LOL @ you and your dad.  :unamused:

I have to say, do you have any personal grudges against Rob?

We should increase the fine for not wearing your seatbelt intown… because thats all cops do in this town… I dont even know why they are call cops… They should be called safety inspectors.  They should take that extra money and hire some safety inspectors to patrol the nights of 2nd and 3rd ave…

Just wear your seatbelt and you won’t have anything to worry about.

Good advise Crazymike, and you just never know when that damn seat belt might save your life (or a hundred and odd something bucks)

And if you’re on the run from the law, wearing your seatbelts may just keep you on the run a little bit longer  :unamused:

A married couple who were allegedly on the run from authorities in Alberta had been laying low in Prince Rupert since January of 2007, according to Prince Rupert RCMP.

Glenn John Nielsen and his wife Jacoba Paulina Nielsen were pulled over by RCMP for the driver’s alleged failure to wear a seatbelt in the 600 block of Fulton Street.

Police then identified Glenn Nielsen as being wanted and the subject of an Alberta and British Columbia-wide arrest warrant.

Police said further investigation revealed that Jacoba Nielsen was also wanted on two unendorsed warrants.

The couple was arrested without incident and appeared before the Prince Rupert Provincial Court on Sept. 20. They have been charged with theft over $5,000, the aggregate amount of which exceeds $180,000, in addition to possession of stolen property over $5,000. The Nielsens remain in police custody and are scheduled to be escorted to Alberta to be dealt with according to law.

If anyone has additional information pertaining to this investigation please contact Crimestoppers at 250-627-8477 or the Prince Rupert R.C.M.P. at 250-627-0700.

I don’t think Herb’s worried about votes from the folks that hang out on HTMF. He’s working on the the older, more conservative demographic, i.e., the people who vote religiously. He’s going to win the next election by a landslide (that’s if he doesn’t run for the Liberals next provincial election) and won’t be losing any sleep over a few people on HTMF backing up Rob at Databoy.

Well that very well may be true, though you have to wonder what the criteria that the “older, more conservative” demographic is using to make their sage decisions.

I seem to remember hearing or reading somewhere once upon a time, that the Mayor wasn’t going to run again, though I could be wrong on that it just seems to stick in the back of my mind.

At any rate, the Liberals would be an interesting option I guess, but I suspect he’s trolling for better opportunties, less dependant on the whim  of the voter, ie: board of directors, federal appointments, something with a generous travel allowance, etc etc,

Wouldn’t mind knowing what it is that he’s done here though that would justify a “landslide” victory, with the exception of real estate values and a gaming centre (whenever it opens), seems to me that the place is still down a few hundred well paying jobs from five years ago…

And there’s always that ever changing financial picture that seems to ebb and flow by about five million bucks or so…

Don’t underestimate the readers of HTMF… there are a LOT more than you think!!

I’ve heard that Gord-o likes Herb a lot and is wooing him to run for MLA next time around. I agree with you, Podunkian, that Herb is looking for something more stable and higher paying and will take the right offer if it comes along.
As for what he’s done, success in politics is as much, if not more, perception of what one has done than what they have actually done. Also, whatever one may think of Herb’s substance, his flash is considerable. He always says the right thing, is very charming, and never uses notes in his speeches, which at least gives the appearance of being earnest.

Agreed.  Herb is a strong speaker, a good politician; he is a charming, friendly person.  However, provincial politics will be a vastly different arena for him to compete in should he decide to run as MLA.  I will be voting for Mr. Coons and the NDP.
