Will Petronas pull the plug in March 2016? Was Grant's prediction true?

“We are continuing to move that forward and we believe we are in the final stages to a final decision,” said Culbert, who is stepping down April 1 from the LNG leadesrhip role to concentrate on the upstream end of the project_.”

Too many obstacles for Petronas

Need more…Read this, LNG prices are trading well below $5 dollars per MM BTU’s…Equity partners can keep their investment and source longterm LNG cheaper than what it would cost them to get it out of the ground in B.C…Not to mention liquefying, transporting etc…

That’s all fine, @Grant_G, but your prediction was that Petronas would pull the plug in “early March” and they haven’t. Were you wrong in your prediction?

It’s amusing how some people can’t even manage a “Yes Mig, my prediction that Petronas will pull the plug in early March was wrong. I still stand by my opinion that they will ultimately pull the plug.” Is that really so hard? Apparently it is, and it amuses me.

He gets a little sensitive about his predictions.

See here: Petronas LNG in Prince Rupert, Happening or Not?

 which is part of the reason I’m calling him out on this prediction.

I still think he’s a bot that doesn’t actually read any replies. He just posts links.

BTW I’m not for or against just some more facts …

Still no announcement that Petronas has called it quits.

As every day goes by, @Grant_G’s prediction is more and more wrong

Doesn’t look to good for your Petronas! I’d say Grant is right!!

Grant predicted they would pull the plug in “Early March.” It’s the middle of April now, and they haven’t pulled the plug.

I’d say it’s another prediction he got wrong.

article does not say it is doomed, they are just awaiting the CEAA approval and re-tendering the contracts which should be cheaper now

when u go from 5 Billion to 50 million It’s doomed!

actually it is 250 million per year now, and yes they already spent 5 billion on the wells, which means they probably have most of the wells they need to provide gas for the plant

it’s sort of like I spent $200,000 building a house and only need 20,000 to furnish it now, ie most of the work is done

Of course they need to slash spending , the CEO of petronas all has it on his personal bank account .

If you wrote that and were actually based in Malaysia, you’d have be arrested by now.

Notice how careful that Malaysian-based poster was in previous threads?
