Why you can expect more spam texts from Andrew Scheer and what to do

Canada’s anti-spam law bans text messages that are commercial in nature unless the recipient has signed up to receive them. But the law does not cover non-commercial messages — including those sent by, or on behalf of, a political party or a candidate running for elected office.

I got one from the provincial United Conservative party here in Alberta.

Even though I know they’re exempt, I still filled out a complaint form.
