I unlinkwd the Fort St. James forums due to lack of interest. Even had a few ppl comment who the f did I think I was, Facebook?
Jeez, it’s been running since those guys were in diapers.
I gues there’s not enough youtubes of cute kitties to be relevant anymore, eh? Even my ageing activists would rather click LIKE to End World Hunger…[/quote]

HTMF just needs more posters like Herbie. I personally love to read his stories. All of them crack me up with a hidden message.
Well, I think that there is some classy intelligent articulate writing going on in HTMF. Mind you, I don’t post that often. Sorry gang, I just could not resist.
JFK once said, “ask not what your country can do for you… ask what you can do for your country”. It is a bit analogous to all volunteer work. If people start thoughtful threads which have good insight and commentary then HTMF will survive. However, if HTMF simply becomes a forum where people post knee-jerk comments and slag other posters, and public figures, then HTMF will lose its relevance.
I think that the folks who maintain this site, have done a great job over the years, and we all owe them a round of applause.

You should start a new topic, if you’re concerned.
Seems everyone wants others to start topics.
Traffic hasn’t really fallen off much, we’re still averaging 900-1100 uniques a day. Most people are viewing, not posting, though. Go for it, start a new thread on a topic of your choice.

Yup.
Every time I switch pages on HTMF the banners at the top and bottom change. The one showing up most often is the online vitamin store that my son recommended and I visited yesterday. Others include my online bank, BC Hydro, and Telus all three of which I have visited recently. There are some random ones that make no sense like one for hard hats and other construction clothing which is totally not me, but some kind of make sense like seniors deals at Harrison Hot Springs cause they know I’m old and some girl in Prince Rupert wants to date me because she thinks I am cute… Which I am.
I have had a sense that HTMF was slipping a bit too!
My perception is that too many posts are: cant, off-topic, specious, or simply an attack of another person’s opinion with a decided lack of any relevant information.
