Wasn’t referring to you anyhow. But it does seem to be what this forum is all about.
As far as I know all school playground euipment in PR needs to be brought up to current standards with the exception of Lax Kxeen School. This was discussed in the Visioning Committee’s report. They say it will cost about $53,000 for each playground.
So why are you a member?
This is an internet forum. It means it’s a discussion place. Go to Tims and you’ll hear people discuss and complain. The difference is that here, at least, one can back up some argument by using weblinks.
Wow,…Wow.
Things really get out of hand dont they? I think we all agree kids need playgrounds, and there should be safe ones…
So I read all this and wonder…
If we were all sitting around a table having coffee, would it come to snips and quips like these? Or do we feel safe behind of screens???
Just a thought, before a valuable discussion gets moved to the wastelends…

I’m an opinionated outspoken asshole both on the internet and in real life so to answer you, yes you could expect the same from me while sitting around a table.
I think that overall, it’s sad that we live in a society where the lawsuit is always the underlying issue. But I am all for child safety.
I am a mother and I would die if something terrible happened to my child. I want him to be safe, but I want him to spread his wings and explore.
Our kids are already growing up with many more limits than I had, like walking down the block to play with the neighbor kids, unsupervised, without a care in the world or the fear of “weirdos” or faulty playgrounds or needles or any of our modern day crap, cuz that’s what it’s become, crapola! the age of innocence in gone…
now I’ll get off the soapbox…
anytime a “committee” makes a decision to remove such equipment, they should publish the plan of replacement etc…
Hopefully there is some kind of plan to replace the equipment, a school should never be without a playground
