The annual filler story

The food bank is still needed. Every year, like clockwork, almost word for word. Next: “firemen fight fires.”

Was this post really needed?

I mean give me a break…if you are criticizing the Northern View then this is NOT the article to be doing that with.

If anything, they should be commended for at least bringing attention to this cause, regardless if not much has changed since last year and if their story is worded nearly the same as last years.

The Northern View has had a number of issues over the last few years and is deserving of the criticism it receives from time to time, but this just doesn’t make sense and is TRULY a reaching “dig” IMO.

Yeah it must be nice to be above and beyond all this drummerboy

However I am glad Northern View covers this human issue…

A not surprising response from someone who thinks it is necessary to write “IMO,” just in case we thought it was someone else’s opinion.

Attacking the use of “IMO” doesn’t ameliorate your insensitive criticism.

How is it insensitive? I was criticizing the View for providing filler akin to “Rupert will see rain this fall.” I’m pretty sure its staff has thick enough skin to take it.

Perhaps you detest being reminded that the town’s social problems need serious attention. I don’t think the weekly rag owe you an apology for bursting your rose coloured bubble.

Let them eat cake?

No its my fucking cake I paid for it with MY tax dollars. If we are going to have taxpayer funded cake then let them get jobs and pay taxes before they get their cake. What kind of socialist paradise is this where we are giving away free cake?

I’m Rob Ford and I approve this message.

also subways.

and crack

I’ll give you a little lesson. You know what a newspaper is supposed to give us? Hint: it’s actually in the word, newspaper.

And I have worked very actively to assist the poor in our community. A tired story that essentially says “people still hungry,” serves no purpose but to fill space on a slow day. Now, if that story offered some insight as to how current services/government are failing and what might be done to alleviate the situation, THAT would be a story.

Your point?

So how is making stupid complaints going to help the needy?

People should cut this guy some slack. Okay, so he is hammered in public, he smokes crack cocaine, and he poses for pictures with known drug dealers who are later shot. He is just expressing himself. [/sarcasm]
snicker

Having nothing, he evades the point and blurts out a base response. Here endeth the lesson.
