Strengthening Families Together

Strengthening Families Together is a free, confidential, 10 week program being offered by the Mental Health Family Resource Center & the BC Schizophrenia Society.

This program is designed for family members and friends of those living with mental illness. It will be running for 10 weeks (one night a week), beginning April 1st, in Prince Rupert. Learn about the mental health system, strategies for self-care, how to best support your loved one, and medication, treatment and support options available in our area. As mentioned before, SFT is free and completely confidential. Participants are welcome to share as much, or as little as they are comfortable with.

As a participant of this program the last time it was offered, I am sharing this information in hopes that it will reach even one family who may need it. The silence and stigma around mental illness prevent a lot of people from getting the help and support they need and deserve (both those with illnesses and those who care about them). Please share this information with anyone who you think could benefit. This program changed our lives in a positive way and we are continuing to benefit from the doors it opened, two years later.

Registration is required, as seating is limited.
For any questions, more information, or to register, please contact Noreen Spence at 1-866-326-7877 or terrace@bcss.org. (small typo on the poster below.)
