SOPA and PIPA abandoned but waite there is ACTA

if you never heard ot ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) there is a reason this was done behnd closed doors and not by your elected officials. here is a little about ACTA

  • That ISPs have to proactively police copyright on user-contributed material. That ISPs have to cut off the Internet access of accused copyright infringers or face liability. This means that your entire family could be denied to the internet – and hence to civic participation, health information, education, communications, and their means of earning a living – if one member is accused of copyright infringement, without access to a trial or counsel.

Why is that disturbing Astro? Seems like business as usual. So the people who point out what’s going on, can be called tin foil hat wearers, and be discredited… Typical.

Huh? I see it all over the media. It’s not being ignored from what I can see.

Michael Geist has been covering the ACTA debate for a long time too.

Or, you know, it actually is being covered. Maybe that doesn’t fit into your view of the world, so you’d rather think that it’s being ignored. But if the BBC is covering a story, then it’s being covered. Unless you think that the BBC are also tin-foil hat wearers?

If you’re concerned with ACTA in Canada, then e-mail your MP now. And send your feedback here. I’m sure you’ve done both, right?
