Smarter than the rest of us

I caught a bit of a TV program today called “Smarter than the rest of us”. It was basically talking about intelligence (mainly how we can develop it in children). Of interest was the fact that in Quebec schools, playing chess is part of the curriculum. Apparently since they started the playing of chess, math scores have increased. I think this is a great idea which I may have to try out. I’m interested to hear what you think about regarding intelligence or how it can be developed.

Teach your kids to read very early in life. Read to them and talk to them as much as you possibly can… you’ll be liking the report card marks very early. Helping your child with homework no matter how old they are helps too. That way, the parents don’t stop learning as well.

Any avid chess players in HTMF land? Playing chess may increase your IQ scores.
