Not what it should be at home but I’m not griping.

Nice upload speed:-)

This is what I’m aiming for: (we’ve since got uploads to over 5800)
but the arsehole landlord won’t let me put a 4 ft parabolic on the roof.

Had to use a 21db flatpanel on a satellite arm and can’t lean out far enough to line it up perfectly.

Cool.  Is the satellite arm for a wireless connection you’ve got herbie?

from the person I talked to Citywest pays Telus 2 million a year for bandwidth and they have to upgrade switches for the fibre pipe but Telus wants Citywest to pay for it so CItywest is looking at switching to the only other bandwidth provider up here called Navigata and they are trying to get Telus to refund money back for the crappy internet speeds so that Citywest can refund us back, and no it isn’t an early april fool’s day joke

Sheesh…maybe it would be best for all concerned here in PR if CityWest just threw in the towel and let Telus take over.  Maybe then we’d finally get some bandwidth.  I’m just feeling grouchy today.

Holy you’re special.  Look at that upload compared to download!  hahaha

remind me why I pay almost 60 bucks a month for random intermittent service?
Maybe my bill payments should be random…today I pay you…20 dollars…next month…22…

hahaha if you could persuade at least 500 other people to intermittently pay CityWest, then you just might be onto something!

This sounds promissing and very capable if you look here:

navigata.ca/en/about-us/nort … nitiative/

I just hope it happens soon before I go postal at work.

The connection is good here this a.m. :sunglasses:  Hopefully this will last through the day.

Mine still sucks… but that’s the highest it’s been in a while.

what kind of service you on smartass. high speed light…or the full adsl ?

Back when Heather worked for CityTel, I was having mega problems with my modems so she gave me a new one and bumped me up to “7Meg” DSL.  I highly doubt that actually happened (that I was given a better service for the same price as the cheaper one) but you never know.

I pay $34.94 plus $5 for the modem, so I guess it’s Standard DSL (so says their website.)

wierd i would have your lines checked smartass as i live across town and my speeds arew 500 kb/s and on a few occasions have reached 700 kb/s

Navigata (SaskaTel) couldn’t supply CityTel. They don’t have a fibre, just a chain of microwave reaching to Nadina.
And they used to be notorious for selling the same T1 to multiple customers. The same 10MB that feeds me feeds all the way out past Burns Lake…

I know I’m not in PR but over here, my internet service provides me with the following:

That’s what you’re supposed to get with standard ADSL. 1.5 down, 512 up.
Abysmalia… sounds like a good name for an extremely impoverished African nation…
one only an Italian wouls want to invade

Sniff sniff - I really miss my $150/month internet connection.  sigh
