Re: Canada Day..!

Hey everyone…Is there anything happening for Canada Day on Wednesday in town ? There is usually some goings on at Mariners but haven’t been in the loop so dunno…Weird to be off work mid-week though…I want the long weekend dammit .

I think things start at 11am.

From the city website:

Canada Day Picnic in the Park

Canada Day celebrations in Prince Rupert will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 1st at Mariner’s Memorial Park from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

There will be music & dance entertainment, gigantic birthday cakes, singing O Canada and flag raising, children’s old-fashioned games and fun, and Canadian memorabilia give-a-ways. Come join the festivities to meet and greet with friends and neighbours to celebrate our great country.

Canada is now 142 years young! Come celebrate our national holiday on Wednesday, July 1st!

Organized by the volunteers of the Prince Rupert Special Events Society.
Please call Canada Day headquarters at 250-624-9118

I think they have five bands lined up for the day, plus as always a festival of shish kebab stands…

I believe the fireworks are set for just after 11 pm (maybe double check on the time as the show isn’t long eh  :-D) best viewed from Mariners Park.

You mean to say there will be no weinies ? Would I need a permit or certificate to bring my own with my bar b Que? Getting excited thinking about it.
