Question about my computer

Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone can help me with a quick question.

I’m trying to boot up the old computer but I keep getting a message saying Could not locate file Windows/System32/Config/System file may be corrupt or non existant.

Anyway I have no idea why my old computer is doing this. It tells me to hit R to repair it and I do that but nothing happens.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What OS?

If WIN2K, support.microsoft.com/default.as … -us;269075

Unless it actually applies, ignore that part about the promise ATA controller.

It’s Windows XP. However when I originally bought the computer it was Windows 2K. I updated it to XP about 3 years ago.

Ive seen this lots… What i have seen many many times in the past…

2 things… one it oculd be a virus. Hitting the file… OR the file permission has changed. If you have a copy of BART run it and change the permission to the file.
