Obama wants old people to die

I heard it on the radio, so it must be true.

I spent last week on vacation in the mountains of Tennessee.  I don’t watch TV, other than sports, so I spend my evenings either on the internet or listening to the radio.

Caught one of our wacko brand right wing talk shows and the host actually said the Administration wants to shorten the life of old folks so they’ll not be around to cost it’s goverment healthcare program so much money.  The fellows name is Mark Levin (sp?)
and he insisted that gov. medical providers would pressure chronically ill oldsters to opt for euthanasia.

Do you guys get any of these radio programs up there?  Do your have your own brand?  Some countries have laws against such things, but our Free Speech fetish includes the right to tell great big effen lies.

We get some watered down versions that focus on politics but nothing quite as bad as FUX tv or the radio versions that fill the air with more hot air, if you know what I mean.  :unamused:

Should try the Alex Jones show.  Now that’s a wak job there.  Talks about government are aliens and such things like that.

Unfortunately, your first mistake was going to Tennessee.  :unamused:

I remember listening to Garner Ted Armstrong late at night at my parents cabin, with an earphone under the covers, very wierd, many childhood nightmares as a result.

Sarah Palin was telling people that they’d have “death panels” with socialized medicine.

Tennessee is where my cousins came out of Dennys this June and someone glanced at their plates and said Canadians, huh? Well just get back in the car and take your liberal asses back home quick now.

I didn’t have a hard time in Tennessee (or any other southern state) with BC plates.

They don’t mind Canadians at all, because at least we’re not damned Yankees.

Fearmongering

Yeah, the GOP has deep pockets with the pharmaceutical companies behind them.  Hopefully people will be able to filter out the bullshit.

Who the hell doesnt.

Have you ever actually listened to The Alex Jones show? Sounds like you haven’t… You should really try listening to it before you say something like that…

We were always treated very well when my late husband and I used to bike down to the south from Ontario on vacation.  They were always polite and interested in where we “hailed” from, loved our accents  especially in Louisiana and were just kind and courteous folk. I have been treated rudely by my own “folk” in my own country !

Their all nuts no matter how you look at them , just nuts. Probably the shit food they eat or too much napulm in their diets.

What’s really funny is that one of the measures in one of the health care bills has the right of the people to have a living will. The measure was introduced by a Republican!

A good site to use to cut through the B.S. is www.pleasecutthecrap.com

In fairness, my cousin also pointed out that was the ONLY example anywhere in the USA they didn’t find the people exceptionally friendly. That’s been my experience down there as well.
But I’ve spoken to sales people down there who have pointedly commented or asked about our Health system. They sure have this thing about MRIs down there.
I tell them Cdn doctors are so fucking good they can tell you you have a broken leg with an Xray, they only need MRIs for finding really obscure shit.

When previously doctors who had two or three MRIs a month all of a sudden bloom to 50 or more a month were investigated it appears that they had a financial investment in the MRI company.

It seems they might have stepped it up a notch.

“We don’t want government running our health care!” they yell.

Then:

“Don’t touch my Medicare (government run health plan)!”

Hypocrites!

No Socialized health care!

… but we’re ok with socialized banks, socialized car companies, and socialized armed forces.

Irony:  The car companies that are being bailed out have health care as one of their biggest costs.  Socialize the car companies, but not the health care?

Instead of spending all that money on killing Iraqis and bailing out banks and crappy car companies, how about spending some of it on making the american population healthy.

Remember Robert Kennedy’s speech where he pointed out how much the US government paid to kill a Vietnamese person?  It was about 2000 times more expensive to kill a Vietnamese person that it was to feed, house, and provide free education and free health care to an American person.  But hey, it’s socialism, right?

I would love to see how much the American government has spent for each Iraqi killed.  I’m sure it’s an awesome number.

Then when someone like Obama comes along and runs an election campaign on reforming the health care system, and he is elected, all of a sudden he’s not a real american!  He wasn’t born in the US!  He’s a socialist!  Oh noes!

Tommy Douglas is probably looking down and once again laughing at them crazy yanks, the Repblicans have these sick people scared sitless and it would not surprise me if some other fool yank does not take a shot at Obama, that would really prove they are not ready to for change . We can send them Harper or Gordo. They deserve the runts of the litter.
