Nisga'a nation seeks power restoration without delay

With the prospect of yet another night without power, the Nisga’a Lisims Government is calling on BC Hydro to restore electricity to the Nass Valley.

Nearly 800 people have been without power since Sunday’s vicious windstorm tore across the Northwest, and while many communities have finally had their power returned, there are still many pockets in Terrace and north through the Nass that remain without service.

I counted 5 Hydro trucks on their way north on my drive home from work today.

There’s some serious damage to be repaired.

Hey I have a question, I noticed that the Nisga’a government had info posted to its website (ahem, unlike some larger communities around here, but I digress) considering the scope of the power problems I’m wondering how many folks up that way have access to their computers and online info at the moment?

Just curious, hope things get back to normal there sooner rather than later.

No power there, and probably no internet access right now for most.

Ah ok thanks was wondering how extensive it all was.

Community should have a back up generator.

Power back on.
