New Home Hardware Opening

The new HH workers could always unionize their worplace.

Wow, I didn’t know about fabric land!  that’s exciting!  I’ve been wanting to buy fabric for awhile, but couldn’t find anything in town, and couldn’t find anything good online.  (and the roads have been too terrible on my days off work to go to Terrace).  Wow, someone just made my day!!!

Oh, and the Zellers down stairs is going to be full of all the yellow tag type stuff.  Stuff they’re trying to sell off.  End of season, etc.  This way the main store will have enough room for in season stock, and they’re updating the cosmetics section.  Should be good!

Fabricland is only here for 2 days so first come, first served…Saturday April 4th. and Sunday til 4 I believe.  That’s it !!!  Better than no fabric store  at all though !!

3rd and 4th i seen on the sign today

Two days?  How does that make any sense?

It doesn’t but maybe Rupert should have “visiting” franchise stores like we have visiting doctors  (specialists, that is) !!  They could come in for a few days once every six months or so and sell their wares …Let’s see, we could have womens clothing, and mens too !!, good books, arts and crafts supplies, THE BODY SHOP  :sunglasses:, gourmet food, shoes…OH, just think of the possibilities

The ad in tonights Daily News said Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the Fabricland visit to Rupert.

Maybe the city could just give us all air fare to leave town every six months then we could do our own shopping. :imp:

Decker perhaps your friend is one of the ones they want weeded out, as my friend was offered his prev wage of $19

he still wouldnt have worked for $19 anyway but to each their own i guess  :sunglasses:

I love your idea there!  It gets frustrating shopping here…
I don’t think city council will go for it  :imp:

Yes it is hard to drop your wages when your mtg and everything is based on it. Someone told me that they went from 26 to 17 dollars when they worked at the mill. Hard to take, but on the other hand it pays more than EI and with the economy th way it is now not a lot of jobs.

I see in the paper that the old philpot went bankrupt as of March 31st…

Interesting how KARMA does work. I feel bad for anyone who had paid for special order items UP FRONT, like cabinets and such. I was qutie lucky I did a reno and got fab tab deals on everthing I think I saved about 75%! The vendors will get stung though … sad to see such an ending to a store who operated for so long, not the first unfortunately in this economy. But really if I was a store owner and a certain person ( or company) kept buying goods on account, at some point I would need to stop allowing charges on the account till it was brought up in line, and secondly quit shippin g on the basis of yes the chqs in the mail!  Especially when the accounts get to be $100,000.00 + !! Doens’t take a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon to realize that someone is blowing smoke up your butt!

It does kind of explain how come they suddenly sold over the location to Home Hardware. I also know of folks that were waiting endlessly for materials to arrive for their projects and were always being told that things were delayed.  Guess that was why in the end.
