Hmm…doesn’t sound good. Make sure that you have the resolution set correctly, otherwise you will fry your monitor.
Sounds like your monitor may be on it’s last legs. I had a 17" CRT a few years back that would crackle and hiss for a few seconds every now and then (especially if you were changing resolution, like while launching a game or something). Eventually, it stopped working entirely and it was sent back for warranty… they said that some solder had melted/weakened or something.
Ditto. But mine cut the cheese as it died. We had to open the windows… ekkk!
