there is a group that takes a bus up ay or times or pools or check facebook i think theres a group
thanks
i’m hoping to find someone to ski with in the next few days - i’m sure theres people keen with avi gear.
i’m not on facebook
- one of these non connected people!
is that a daily bus up to shames, or just for the weekends? i guess it will start in december when the hill opens
there is no daily or weekend bus to shames from prince rupert. i dont even think there is one from terrace anymore?
there is a good backcountry scene in rupert, i’m a knuckledragger but the guy you want to talk to is Jud at cowpuccinos maybe ?
anybody driving up tomorrow or other days this week?
gotta bump this,
as smithers reported 75 in 24hrs, same probably at shames…
c’moooooon
I was up at shames this aft maybe 10cm fresh in the lot. Will post pictures at some point. To tired now.
Here’s the view at Shames this week,
thanks
sounds like theres been some windslab building up there on the ridge recently
looks like the freezing line is supposed to spike to 2000m this week…
Yum!
should be interesting to see how the new snow bonds with the raincrust…
anyone driving up on saturday, that i can hitch a ride with?
thanks
surely there has to be someone in this town excited by winter.
i havent found many…
its not like theres no snow!
anybody at all up for some skinning tomorrow?
Have you been up to shames yet? I was up Fri/Sat/Sunday and it was insane, super deep & tons of people. There is literally >no bottom< to the snowpack right now, only a few zones are steep enough to ski.
What are you looking to do, shred s-turns or drop pillows & cliffs? Either way me or my dad are probably going up this weekend, he might be looking for a copilot if he doesn’t want to run with the young crew.
If you cant find anyone before Dec11th it wont take you long once the hill opens.
i’ve been up twice, but have no wheels, so no easy way to get there. i bet its awesome up there. thats what a mid winter snowpack looks like where i lived before (euroope).
i’m desperate to go up, and would go every day if i could
are you the guy I saw hitchhiking in the rain with your ski’s on Saturday ? the poor guy was out there for two hours, gettin soaked :|
reading your posts…lol…your really stoked for winter sking. Good luck, have a great winter.
yup, thats me.
i should be living in terrace, but i’m in ruprt for the winter = further away, but we’re still in the mountains!
anybody going up tomorrow?
it just seems like such a shame to waste such awesome conditions
i guess i should point out that i’m cautious of the snowpack, and eager to get up there not only to ski, but to see how the snowpack develops with the recent storm cycles. i always carry avalanche gear, and am looking for ski partners with a similar avalanche aware mindset
i guess i should have covered that earlier in the thread, so i didnt seem like some over keen punk with all the gear and no idea
ahh, the beauty of hindsight, eh!
