Just wondering

is there anything that happens in this town where people are happy?

from council to snow to people shopping locally to to drug addicts?

maybe people can say what makes them happy about rupert here , instead of whining.

here i’ll go first i like the small townn feel you get and living on the water with the fresh air

I think you would be hard-pressed to find anyone on here with something positive to say. :imp:

I too like the clean fresh air…you sure appreciate it when you go somewhere else with less than fresh air (PG, Vancouver, etc).

I like the lifestyle. I chose to stay in town when I could have left.

I think the thing I miss about Rupert would be the people. I made a lot of good friends up there. Plus the views I had when I lived up on Atlin were incredible, I’ve got photos of sunsets from there that just are amazing.

I love no traffic,I love walking into emergency and seeing a doctor pretty quick, I love the ocean pretty much everywhere I look

I love the way I can walk a few blocks and sit and listen to the waves crashing along the rocks. The way I can smell the crisp salt air in the breeze. I love how you can walk virtually everywhere. And I adore how the people here actually smile when they walk past you. They don’t look away or down. I love the sunsets. The way the wind howls and blows the rain sideways, while I sit and watch from inside with a warm mug of tea.

I love Prince Rupert. Faults and all. And I wouldn’t ever trade it for anything else.

Call me small town, call me what you like, but I’m a Rupertite for life!

I get to walk to work, no hour-long commute, get paid well, feel like I make a difference and am appreciated.  I don’t think I’d have any of those in a big city.

Also, I’m about 7000kms away from my mother.  That’s a bonus.

This website wouldn’t have existed without the awesomeness of Citytel in 1998. That’s another positive.

Big positive:  Reveen hangs out at Tim Horton’s.

I love sitting at Cowpuccinos on one of our warm, sunny days with my fella watching the folks from the cruise ship and having a LARGE iced tea. LOVE the sunsets, absolutely gorgeous, seal and whale sightings, eagles dive-bombing at the beach.  Love going for walks and just breathing in the salty air and I love the snow.  Feels new and clean for a little while.  People, and their dogs seem happy at the first sight of snow  !!      As for feeling appreciated MiG, despite the good job I have, I received much more respect and appreciation in the big city…But could be where I work, nothing to do with the town itself…Still moving on though, my fella and I but will never forget the almost 10 years spent here or 11 by the time we move away from here

Heh-heh, classic.  :sunglasses:  My mother lives near Vancouver, I am comforted that she’s 1500 km away.

Yup… I love the small feel of Rupert. Smile and you get a smile back. I love the ocean, eagles, mountains, especially the drive to Terrace… wow, who’s got that right!!  I don’t like that I am so far away from my mom.
Hey Decker," WE LOVE YOU MAN"

there we go some positive thoughts for this podunkboomtown lol

i like it that when i crave halibut i can usually get a baggie of it like getting a baggie of weed  :imp:

I love the mountains. I love the clear blue skies.

I lolled.

I love the rain.  In some parts of the world, they cannot get some good sprinkle like we have the privilege of getting.

Most important, I love the wide range of culture here.

I moved to a town much like rupert (smaller actually). Fortunately it’s near a larger center so I don’t feel so trapped.

There’s also better weather

I moved back to Rupert after university for the good friends I had here, and also for the easy access to an exceptionally beautiful backcountry without tons of other folk for competition.  Doesn’t matter if it’s powder or waves, I guess I don’t like to share.

skiing the deeeeeep pow!!!
