GPRS and GSM coverage in Prince Rupert and Terrace?

This may be a stupid question, but what is GPRS and GSM, and also are both available in Prince Rupert and Terrace to wireless customers.

GSM is a type of telephone technology.  GPRS is a slowish data system over GSM.  You can tell GSM phones 'cause they usually have removable SIM cards.

Rogers offers GSM, GPRS & Edge, while  Telus and Bell both offer HSPA.  All three companies service Prince Rupert and Terrace.

Citywest is still using CDMA in Prince Rupert, from what I understand.
