I was reading something lately about how the italian birth rate is well below the magical 2.1 that would assure a stable population. Italian politicians are starting to panic with the specter of an older population.
One suggested measure was to give extra vote to parents. For example, parents with two kids would get two more votes. I think they predict that issues relating to family would become more important.
