As part of their Election Coverage, the Daily News is asking questions of the candidates and printing their replies in the Wednesday and Friday editions of the paper.
The following was the “Pressing Question” for Wednesday, April15, 2009
How do we best protect our environment here on the North Coast while improving our commerce capacity?
Well I do hope that Herbie does not answer everything with when I was mayor because he most certainly did not do much besides having photo sessions and a lot of ribbon cutting. He really did nothing for the coomunity, the port was already in the works, he did shit with social issues except socialize with whatever he could get a photo op.
I agree… The pics of herb under the liberals banner make me sick…
I am sure Gordo will have some work for herb likely pressing his suits in Victoria.
Heaven help us if herb gets in… It makes me ill to that so many young people are supporting him… They like herb as a person but don’t know the issues… he is using them… As I said the whole thing makes me sick…
Well I’m hoping the replies get a little more detail oriented, so far the young lady from the Green Party seems to have provided the most thoughtful of answers…
It will also be interesting to see which other questions that the paper decides are the most pressing, I’m kind of hoping that health care and education show up on the ole radar…
Yea, I noticed that too. I’m curious if she’ll be as good when the questions don’t have anything to do with the environment–although Greens are usually very good at making the environment part of every issue.

Herb has always been good at promoting himself and he’s personable, but as far as I am concerned that’s the end of his good points,I talked to 2 of his young supporters that I know and I beleive they won’t be voting Liberal now.[/quote]
