I suspect you know that the incidence of violent crime has significantly dropped through-out North America. While police departments like to think that it is because they are doing a better job, the real reason is that the population bulge has moved along. We no longer have such a large juvenile and young adult population. As people get older, (into their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s ) they are less likely to commit violent crime.
