An interesting sidenote here that might have some bearing on the CityWest speed issue … I just moved from Rupert to Terrace and now live about 15 mins south of Terrace. Believe it or not I have Telus 3mb ADSL service (pretty damn fast - better than CityWest). When I traceroute to citywest.ca guess the path that Telus follows … down to Vancouver and up to Prince Rupert via Navigata!!! How’s that for green apples - and that test on speedtest.net was pretty damn slow.
So much for the CityWest fibre line between Rupert and Terrace …
OK I will finally ask for forgiveness due to my ignorance.
WHY is there such a download difference between Bandit and alexcees download speeds?
Thats frickin disgraceful…isnt it?

My friend said he had a talk with the supervisor person there and they said it would take $32 million to get it back to what it was before and everyone would probably have to start paynig $10 extra if they wanted it to keep it like that.
Our new rural wireless link. It varies with load per radio, but this is pretty ‘average’.
Looks like today was the last mountaintop trip, barely made it to the top. Slimey as hell, solid ice within days. Hung a huge 20db 90degree sectoral and amp’d access point, the new stations can handle 2 SSIDs. If one transmitter fails, they switch to the other.
I really need to access the other mountain to do the same thing, the latest AP & sectorals have quadruple the strength.
Tomorrow we’re installing subscribers # 93, 94 and 95. #100 should get a free install, don’t you think*?
*the guys on dedicated P2P shots don’t count. Neither do employees AP shots.
