Citywest cable internet

Unhook all your set runs at the protector. Plug just your modem in there. If your DSL doesn’t go off, you have an inside trouble. YOUR FAULT.
If it still acts up, call them and tell them what you did.
They have to:

  1. Try changing the port in the C.O.
  2. If that don’t fix it, check the drop or change your cable pair.
10-1 it’s a fault on the drop at the RA. If your line ever clicks when you’re on the phone that’s it. Once in awhile it’s the cable pair from the office, and once in a blue moon there’s a left-in drop at someone else’s house on your pair causing trouble.

ya I did all that still no Internet… The line is clean so it’s a problem with the lttle box on the wall. 2 one that has been replaced… So ya… It will get fixed.

Forgot one other thing!
What brand of modem do you have? There was some kind of firmware update on the DSLAMs and even Telus won’t admit it, but the old Dlinks and Linksys don’t work anymore. They do exactly what you described, randomly go on and off.
Thomson modems work, 2wire work, Ovislink work…
I’ve had to change every single modem in the last 6 mos. here. Lucky I sold off all the SOHO circuits years ago.

the modem is white and black it’s called tp-link.
