There were 3 CF-18s in Terrace today.

Fairly certain I saw one rip over Prince Rupert the other day. I only got a side profile view, so I couldn’t possibly ID it, but my best guess was an F-18.
Dunno if it’s connected to these CF-18s, but the Americans recently had an issue that forced them to ground their F-15 fleet. This included all the NORAD air patrol stuff, and Canada had to cover the entire west coast. If you do some googling around, you’ll see that the Russians took the opportunity to try and fly over Alaska a couple of times, but were intercepted by Canadian CF-18s.
Russia has stepped up aircraft flyovers the last few years due to increasing natural resource revenue and to show they still aren’t pushovers on the world stage.

It flew past rushbrook floats on Saturday, at no more then a few hundred feet above the ocean doing 300 or 400 miles an hr, it was so fast I didn’t even have a chance to take a picture.
I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to add that we need another air show. I remember the last one that we had in Rupert and it was amazing. I am not to sure how many years ago it was now but it was along time ago.
