Can you tell the difference between a crack shack and a mansion?

 I got 11 out of 16.

Me too.

Good tool for finding a new home in Vancouver.

And yet 2/3 people in this town think 200k is way too much to pay for a nice house.

I got 13/16.  Maybe it’s because most of the houses looked like the house I grew up in.  Google 2549 East 16th in Vancouver.

Dad bought it in 1951 brand new for 10,000.  He sold it when he retired in 1976 for 52000 and thought he had hit the jackpot.

It sold for close to 200,000 in the 80’s.  No idea what it’s worth now.

One of those three houses?

For a decent neighbourhood like this, they could be in the range of at least $500,000 to a maximum of $1.5million.

The red/rust house between the other red/rust house and the cream house.

The neighbourhood was fantastic.  Beaconsfield Park which was a block away was three huge fields.  Half of the lower was just bush where we could play hide and seek.  It is now a community centre.  You pass it after a mile if you take the Grandview Highway exit.  The rest of the lower field was for football.  The upper could be used for soccer and baseball.  There was a small area with swings and teeter totters.

Trout Lake was a couple of blocks the other way.  It had a community centre/skating rink as well as fields for football and baseball.  The football field was rarely used so we put targets at each end and practised with a nine iron.  The lake could be used for swimming but most avoided it.

I was very lucky to grow up where I did.

oohhhhhhh… I failed the test… I would be busting the wrong house everytime…lol

I thought the size of a house dictated what made it a mansion or a crack shack, not the price. But hey what do I know? :unamused:

Those houses are gross!! I got like 3 of them right! lol Obviously I suck at real estate

It’s about the property they’re on.

If there’s millions of dollars of important real estate around the house, it’s going to bring the houses property value up. No matter how ugly the damned house is.

Which is why I say, property value shouldn’t dictate wether or not the house is a mansion.

Thats unreal some of those houses selling for that much…8/16 lol
