I’m surprised that the NDP did so well. NDP 47 seats. Conservative 44 seats. Green 2 seats. An NDP majority.
I’m not. They haven’t done many things I disagree with and I don’t blame politicians for things they don’t control.
And I don’t do “backwards”.
they got lucky that the Conservatives ran on nothing, had so many bad candidates, and then to top it off said they would increase the deficit to $11 billion from the NDP’s $9 billion that is after saying the NDP’s deficits are too big, which they are, I don’t agree with most of the NDP policies i am centralist, wish they had a green running so I could give them a vote to get more money from the government, but instead i ruined my vote
I would also like to see Green candidates. A Green candidate likely has little chance in the North Coast- Haida Gwaii riding. I’m not sure what spoiling your ballot does. The only say we have as a citizen is our right to vote.
the greens should have ran just to get more votes for the Provincial party funds, the more votes you get the more funds you get, as for spoiling my ballot it is still a form of voting, neither party appealed to me and didn’t deserve my vote, as long as i vote a spoiled ballot is still a vote
It is not a vote. A spoiled ballot doesn’t support any party. It’s just a way to waste your time.
if i fill out my ballot and spoil it it is a vote, i went in i voted for no one
Sure. I fully support your right to vote in the way you wish. I believe in the democratic process. I am grateful that we have the right to choose who governs us.
By contrast, I was flying out of Kurdistan on election day. Had to get back into Erbil the day prior because they shut down the entire region for the vote, so people can’t vote at more than one polling station. You also have your finger dyed and it’s inspected at all polling stations to ensure you haven’t been at another during that day.
All of that, and the election winner was likely already decided ahead of voting day, yet 72% of the eligible voting population voted, which is more than us.
Interesting report on the Jaz Jogal show that many former Liberal?BC United voters did NOT vote Conservative. Claimed 19% actually went NDP, 7% went Green and 7% declined to vote this time. That’s a significant amount of votes for a 3rd centrist party to consider.
