Based on a true story

It seems that some Disney movies that claim to be based on or inspired by a true story are actually very far from the actual events.  Recently, I watched Hidalgo and Eight Below.  Fairly good entertainment but both movies were linked to true stories which usually adds a little more interest to the film.  However, upon reading about the true story part on the web, one will quickly find out that while Hidalgo and the main character Hopkins existed, the story told in the movie is considered a hoax by many.  And Eight Below ressemblance to the real event from which it was “inspired”, is only about some dogs surviving for a long time on their own in Antarctica.  That’s it!

Do you feel cheated? this is a well known fact and its very smart of them to make you believe its real, better publicity that way.

The dogs weren’t actually stranded, the men were stranded. They survived by eating the dogs. They were better than anything the diners served in Smithers where they filmed the movie…
Then they re-edited to footage and sold it to Disney instead of George Romero…

Are these dogs the characters in “Alice, I think?”
