Artists told to vacate carving shed to allow renovations

Artists who ply their craft in the Museum of Northern B.C.’s Carving Shed in Prince Rupert have been told to vacate the facility to allow for renovations, and are taking issue with how the issue was dealt with by the Museum’s management.

“We were given one week notice to move a full woodworking studio, two 6 foot poles, and many other projects and tools…Because we don’t have a tenancy agreement, we are forfeiting of many rights. However, it simply illustrated the lack of respect and aggressive mentality that we would be given so little notice to vacate the shed,â€
