Apple Watch Ultra 2

I ordered the black Apple watch Ultra 2 yesterday, along with the dark ocean band. This falls in the category of: “Do I really need this tech?!”
I purchased and sold the Apple watch 8 two years ago. It was a great watch, but, the battery life was at best satisfactory. Over the last two years I’ve owned, sold, returned a lot of watches. I’m really excited about this purchase. I should get it in the next few days. :slight_smile:

Many years ago with the phone company, I gave up on rings and watches and pocket PDAs after getting zapped in the central office and up the poles and breaking a couple PDAs and a pricey Palm Pilot spazzing out from the shocks. Back then I’d get home to our hobbt farm and get zapped again maintaining the electric fence,
So I haven’t worn watches or jewelry for over 30 years, and living in Fort St James where time has no meaning (everything happens at the speed of a glacier) and even less so since I retired.
Growing up with a father raised Catholic, time is now mentally registered by “I’m hungry for fish & chips, it must be Friday” and notes on the fridge door or coffee pot.

and singing to myself Keys & wallet, coat and phone as I go out the front door.

Enjoy your new watch. If I’d never moved here, I’d probably own one too.

Thanks, herbie! The watch arrived today. I was busy so I’ll set it up in the morning. I’m an older person(67); I always wore a watch up until cellphones happened. It’s been the last few years that I’ve started fiddling with watches again. The Ultra is getting close to a Dick Tracey watch. Haha.

Just finished setting up the Apple Ultra 2 this morning. Installed the 11.5 update. Everything works well. It comes with a lot of different watch faces.

The unit has excellent speech to text for imessage and a built in compass, heart rate monitor, and temperature. Very cool.
