I have a really easy and simple e-mail address. Basically my first name @ gmail.com.

Unfortunately, my first name is pretty common in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries. Every single day I receive e-mail destined for someone in Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, etc.

All because someone made a typo, or didn’t verify an e-mail address, or just said it out loud and some clerk just typed in mine instead.

Here’s the latest …

Years ago I worked nights at the BC Tel warehouse. In 6 months there, the security guard at the gate never noticed a coworker had replaced the photo on his ID card with one of his dog.
