See that’s where you are somewhat wrong there, The source is a big outlet and they have items with a 100% markup, why would I buy from them when I can go up to Zellers and by it for ½ price or over to the dollar store.
My wife and I got great service in Canadian tire and in wall mart, we go up every other month and never had bad experience with those who help us .
In 3 months time those two Dells will end up supporting a local business.
My, I wonder how happy Rob will be when he get his magical hands on your Dells.

Big box retail stores have the most random mixture of employees. I’m not saying some stores are like that, but all of them.
Take Future Shop at Metrotown for example, these are the employees they got:
Imagine one retail store with all their employee having an attitude like this:
That’s another thing I hear. They want stock.
I know, whenever we have a few models on display they sell. People love the touchy feely.
But they also expect YOU to have stock, YOU to allow them to pay later, and every time they’ll bring up Dell.
Dell, Dell, Dell. Jesus owns a Dell.
They’ll jump to give a US company their credit card today for a computer they can’t see and won’t get for a week, but want Joe Smith down the street to run on different rules.
Gimme your credit card today and pick a Touch computer model, it will get drop shipped the same. that worked for TWO customers.
There’s a big difference between ordering a computer with the customer’s $$ already in your account and speculating with your own $$ that someone might buy what you stock.
You SERIOUSLY aren’t expecting the local merchant to compete with mail order, are you?
If all local merchants were like the Entire Auto guy, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.
He pretty much beats all the prices that I’ve seen, and there’s no bullshit, no extra fees to install tires, etc. He earns your business. I think pretty much everybody has something good to say about their experiences there. I just ordered 4 tires … I wonder if they’re in yet.
Plus, he has candy. Lots of candy. Maybe that’s the secret to keeping customers happy!
Fair enough migster…I have had an excellent experience with entire and dwayne. He has bent over backwards for me and my emlployer.
I think he’s too frickin busy…takes on way too much and cant remeber a thing.
My wife has ordered tires for our vehicle 3 times. Everytime she goes in he cant remember …has sold them …basically he doesnt phone and he dont need to as as soon as it comes through the door some one else steps up and buys my fricken tires!!!
Oh well…its nice to see a rupert success story.
Yeah, I’ve had good luck there as well, MiG. Yes, his prices are good compared to other outfits here in town. I’ll be seeing him in the next little while to get my snowies put on.
I think the candy is the secret. Seriously. You walk in to see if your tires are in. You pop a candy in your mouth. He tells you they’re not in yet, you walk out, but you’re happy. Candy… good.
my point is… everyone expects small buisnesses to compete with big box stores prices. yeah theres some big chain stores that are horribly over priced but thats not what im talking about here.
and as for service. i shouldnt have to go LOOKING for a customer service rep to get help… they should be right on my ass as soon as i walk into their department asking me if i need anything! thats how you sell. that shows good buisness sense. and THATS what i look for in a store
hehe and candy is definitly a plus… unless its thos campinos. i dont like those ones too much
ya what hitest said go’s for me… I don’t need your sales pitch to buy the merchandise I need. So don’t try and sell me that next big thing I’m going to need, as I already own it. I just came in to buy a Antimatter particle beam to destroy mankind with…Thanks
I hear our Federal Minister is going around telling retailers to lower their prices.
Hey Flaherty, how come the WHOLESALER has 9,000 brands and models of monitors in stock and ALL of them cost more than the cheap ones in Future Shop?
Maybe there’s some BACKROOM PRICING and HANDSHAKING and ILLEGAL TRADE PRACTICES going on between the BIG BOYS who fund your nut-less government?
Yep, well-said, herbie. It is the golden rule. He who has all the gold makes the rules.
Ya know, I just wish that the Liberals had a stronger leader to take on Harper, Dion doesn’t strike me as being effective. I don’t particularly like the Liberals, but they’re better than the Tories.
Personally I 'd have had Dion hung for treason ten years ago, and that cocksucker Duceppte with him, public hanging on national television for the treasonist bastards I say, ever think how much those fuckers cost us tax payers over all the years with that treasonistic bullshit?
So refresh my memory, what is it that Dion did ten years ago? Seems to me that the fact he’s despised by the nationalists in Quebec might mean that he was/is more of a federalist than perhaps you’re giving him credit for.
Not sure that he’s the one to lead the Liberals back to the trough though, they seem to have shot themselves in the foot the last three or four years and still continue to run their ship kind of like a BC Ferry on a bong run…
As for Duceppe, well he’s the big yap in the little pond in Quebec and it would seem that even the militants in Quebec have tired of him, as he’s not particularly wanted by the Parti Quebecois and his Bloquistes are losing traction to the Conservatives of all people…
hmm…well i like shopping in terrace, they offer so much more for so much less
if rupert had affordable fashionable stores, i would blow my money here in a second, but f0r now id rather save up and wait for a out of town trip
just thought i’d put my eight cents in
Agreed. I predict that Dion will have a rather short shelf life. If the Liberals do not reclaim their past glory in the next general election the party faithful will cut Dion’s legs out from under him. Kind of like the hatchet job that Martin did to Chretien. Ya gotta love politics.
We would be nuts to risk a Harper majority to oust Dion.
Give the man actual power and he’d no longer spend half his life controlling the dinosaurs in the party.
Instead of his showmanship stuffing a bad throne speech down Liberal throats, why doesn’t he offer to do something for Canadians: #1 - whatever ‘unfair advantage’ the Yanks imagined and whined about in softwood has been erased by the rise in the Canadian dollar. Unilaterally end the duty, now!
Stop jawing and announce some incentives to USE the deadwood. Brew it into methanol for our gas tanks, grind it into pellets, encourage scrubbed burning for cogen, whatever. Just clean it up before it burns all our forests next year and wastes itself.
