XP firewall thingy

Where do I go to turn off the XP built-in firewall again?

Clink on start, go to setting, select control panel, switch to classic view if you are not already in it.

Click on the “windows firewall” icon. Select off.

That should work.

There is no windows firewall icon on either mine, or my boyfriend’s control panel.

Can you find the “security center”? You should be able to turn it off there.

If you found the “security center” . Do the following:

  1. click on why should use only one firewall
  2. click on “turn windows firewall on or off”
  3. follow instructions

hope this works

If the security thing doens’t work, or you don’t have it…

Right click on ‘My Network Places’, clcik on ‘Properties’

Now you should be in a window titled ‘Network Connections’

Right click the connection you want to remove the firewall from… Probably called something like ‘Local Area Connection’ or ‘Citytel’. Go to Properties, then the advanced tab.

There should be a section titeled ‘Windows Firewall’. Click the settigns button under it…

You can figure out the rest. Pardonthe spelling and stuff… Apparently Polyester Resin fucks you up when you don’t have great ventalation…

NOTICE: SHould use outside…
