Hi everyone… I really didn’t think my post would generate such a response…that was not my intention; I have to agree with some of you, I should have sent the info up the conservation officer in Terrace and getting the facts right before I posted.
I don’t hunt, but my friends I was with I thought new more about the animals then I did, they thought it was wolf remains. I love these animals I love seeing these beautiful animals we have here.
I was under the assumption that these were wolf’s and if they were wolf’s who would have shot, skin them and leave the pelts there, as this is the most important piece from a wolf. So if they were shot just for fun or were they shot for profit. I know for a fact that bears are shot and only parts are taken for the black market in Asia, it happens all over this Province. I didn’t imply directly that was the case, but more of a what if scenario. Sorry if it sounded that way.
When I was told what these animals were I reported it here that I made a mistake in the remains of these animals, now fingahz posted
Well that all good and dandy but the hides were moose and the remains were deer. So this says that the remains were dumped.
Also it may not be a campground under the pretence of a campground but I camp there and I know a lot of other people from prince rupert like myself with kids who camp there. And my not want there children playing with the remains until they have been dealt with properly.

Yeah, I remember a few years ago some dudes got busted because they were killing bears, harvesting only… the gall bladder? I can’t remember, some organ, and then leaving the carcasses, hide, meat and all.
They were probably making some type of anti-vampire syrum.
Or some Super Throbbing Erection of Power™ powder.
Or they were going to steal a small golden idol from an ancient cave and a bear’s bladder is the exact same weight as the idol.
I’m pretty sure that’s actually what it’s for.

I can’t believe how ignorant some of these responses are! Do any of you actually believe there is nothing wrong with killing any animal for sport? Are we in the fricken’ dark ages here? Or Texas? If you don’t want to go vegetarian and you need to hunt to feed your family, fine - it’s better than supporting factory farms. But being totally ignorant and sitting around making stupid posts about nuking whales and making fun of people who give a shit just feeds the bad rap northerners have for being mindless hicks. I know a lot of you are going to be pissed off by this, but it’s only because you know I"m right. You need to deal with it and go edumacate yourselves!

I don’t agree at all with any sport hunting, only for sustainance. I fail to see though where the pictures provided in the first post show any evidence of sport hunting. Someone may have made a bad choice by dumping a carcass in the wrong spot but there are not many access roads in the area where someone could dump a moose skin where it won’t be found.

Ok, I never said you were all a bunch of mindless hicks. I said that was the stereotype. I don’t buy into stereotypes. I’m moving up to PR because it’s a beautiful place with a lot of great people. I don’t mean to judge anyone unfairly. I just get pissed off when people are so disrespectful to wildlife. That’s my only issue with this subject, and I do understand that I could have put more respectfully. In fact, this seems like a touchy subject up there, so I guess I should keep my mouth shut if I plan on making any friends…
