What lcd do you have?

What size lcd’s do you guys sit in front of ? I just bought yet another 12" pb but now i need a lcd… either the apple 20" lcd or a 21 wide screen lcd… Any one have some fav brand’s?

tweeeenty one aaaaple!

17" NEC AccuSync

To small.

I don’t have one. I’m oldschool.

are yu seriouse. KAO come on. www.tigerdirect.ca a 17" lcd is so cheap now.

Yes, I yam seriouse. The 19 inch monitor I have still works as if I bought it yesterday, and I’m totally happy with it. Until this one kicks the bucket, I’m not even going to bother spending money on an LCD.

Besides, there’s far more things I could be spending money on. Like hockey equipment, or a new mp3 player as I STILL haven’t bought a new one yet.

I have the 4gb Green ipod mini i love it. have not filled it yet but its nice…

I want an iPod, but then I don’t want an iPod. I love the accessories, and the ease of use, but I hate the battery situation, and the price.

I was looking at the new Sony Network Walkmans, but then Sony has their propriatory storage and I’d rather not have the pain of converting my mp3’s to the Atrac format, since I’ve heard lots of mp3s don’t convert properly. But the tinyness and the 50+ hours of battery life almost outweighs the Atrac problems.

Just so you guys/gals know… The Nano’s LCDs are extremely fragile. Mine broke inside my duffel bag which contained clothing and a pair of work boots. Completely cracked, completely not covered by Apple’s warranty, or the place I bought it from. I had only owned it for about 2 weeks…

Anyway, I asked some sales people at different stores in town and they’ve seen a lot of people bringing in broken lcd nanos, just to be aware. They’re super cool and the battery life is pretty decent, but they can’t take a drop or a squish. Buy a fancy holste ror protective case.

What battery situation???

Oh, 17" Samsung 173T… Mig has or had the same one. I checked it out before buying mine. It’s getting old, but I’m stil happy with it. No dead pixels or any sort of problems with it.

Yeah, that’s been in the news quite a bit recently. I think the tech columnist from the Washington Post wrote an article about the probelm with the ipod Nano’s screen.

Oh yeah, the guy in the booth next to me is watching porn again! :unamused:

Yeah, if you get a Nano, get a case for it.

The thing that the iPod has that nobody else has is its integration with iTunes. You don’t know what you’re missing until you’ve seen that in action.

as a former sony user, NOTHING will outweigh the atrac programs. sony software will make you wish bad things upon sony designers.

I have a perfectly good minidisc player that never gets used thanks to Sony’s software.

Man, and with all this Sony rootkit talk lately, I think Sony has really screwed their reputation. To think it was Sony that fought and won the Betamax case, how ironic is that?

Anyway, iPod copy protection = sticker that says “please don’t pirate music.”

You know what sucks? iTunes is cool and all, but for guys like me who’s mp3 collection contains lots of music that I have been carting around for like 15 years, my ID3 tags and shit are all missing/incomplete/different, so it doesn’t sort the music very well.

I dunno what the Windows software is that uses the database, but the Mac stuff does it automagically. Set it loose on a bunch of mp3s, and it will identify them and put in the proper tags for you.

Try that.

Make me.

I’m thinking about investing in an MP3 player. I’m thinking iPod mini or Nano… Undecided which dierection to go right now. I know the Nano’s are fragile but if I get a case it should hopefully be alright. I’m pretty abusive to my electronics though, so I may need something a bit more robust. Basically I need a bomb proof MP3 player.

Any ideas?

Get an iPod with a case.

Otherwise get a shuffle.
