Voting

[quote=“MiG”]Next municipal election, I’m voting for the candidates that are willing to order the RCMP to put crime as their #1 priority, not rolling-stop tickets.

Next municipal election, I’m voting Voter Apathy party. Maybe.

Heh, I was going to vote for the pessimist party, but they probably won’t have any chance of winning anyway.

Speaking of… Ontario’s voting in their election tomorrow.  One of the things they’re voting for is a system of proportional representation.  Any thoughts?  It’s sort of like the STV vote we had here in BC during the last election.

LMAO :sunglasses:

Sort of, but the MMP idea assigns 30% of seats to members chosen by the Party. Some people are saying those members aren’t actually elected.
I don’t know the exact workings of MMP, but STV members actually get elected by voters.

Hmm, does that mean that members of the Voter Apathy Party are known as “Vapids”??

Does anyone know exactly how Ontario’s MMP is supposed to work?
I asked posters on another board but they’re all neocons still whining about Lieberal Adscam bastards… etc. I don’t think they even know what they’re voting for or against.

Here’s a 2 minute video clip that explains it pretty well:
