There will be a new head of the Prince Rupert School District in the coming months following a February 19 announcement that Superintendent Eric Mercer will be vacating the top position in the district.
According to the announcement, the Board of Education and Mercer mutually agreed that he would be leaving his position as Superintendent of Schools effective immediately to pursue other opportunities. No other details were provided in the announcement.
