During first boot Slackware correctly detects all my hardware, but after rebooting lsmod don’t show some modules like ALSA or secondary network card, and of course both devices not work. What is the problem? Thanks
For your network try running this again and see if you can configure eth0
#netconfig
For alsa to work properly you need to save your settings. Run these three commands as root to set-up your sound card.
#alsaconf
#alsamixer
#alsactl store
Argh, yet another variant. I’m just now appreciating Deb/Ubuntu’s single ‘interfaces’ config file compared to RH/Fedora’s ifcfg-eth0, ifcfg-eth0:1, ifcfg-eth1 etc.
I was given a dual P3-450 3U machine I’m making into a backup DNS-NAT box. Gotta hunt today for a BIOS u/g so it can read bigger than 20GB IDE drives…
