Roadkill

I’m presently on a cross-Canada trip and wanted to post something about my journey. So let me tell you about roadkill.
We didn’t see much roadkill in B.C. or Alberta. However, in Saskatchewan, we saw lots of badgers, a few skunks and a few prairie dogs (my wife squished one while she was driving!) But this morning, just out of Winnipeg, we saw the most unusual roadkill on a highway overpass: a huge beaver!!! What was it doing there is still a puzzle to me. But it was big.

As for living wildlife, not too many species beside the regular stuff! A wolf, lots of mountain sheep and two elks in Jasper park. Two bisons in Elk Island Ntl park. Lots of prairie dogs. And a couple of vultures chewing some unidentified roadkill in Northern Ontario.
