This country looks somewhat poorer than we are, appears to have a drier climate than we do, and it appears to be a fairly crowded city.  The location has cultural and historic significance.

It is in the northern hemisphere, it is far enough north or high enough to get snow, and it is not 6 time zones east of us.  It is not in western Europe (not a colonial power), not in eastern Europe, and in addition it is not in the EU and neither Italy nor Greece.  It is not Canada or the USA.
