Re-set password on Windows

I went looking for a password re-set utility and there are lots. I saw one on FB awhile ago, but, I cannot remember the name of the utility. A buddy of mine has a laptop and he’s forgotten his user password. Can anyone please recommend a password recovery/ and or re-set utility?
