Re: Chances

Frankly I get a little amused when people get all up in arms over this new gambling establishment. Just because they added some slot machines, it suddenly makes it worse than the bingo hall it replaced? I seem to remember people (the same people) lined up around the block for bingo. Is that not gambling? The regulars who sit in one of the various places and play Keno all day long, that’s not gambling? I don’t hear people crowing about those establishments.

All I’m saying is that some people go on and on about this new gaming centre, like it alone will be the ruination of Prince Rupert.

Absolutely people.  The Bingo Palace was always full and so are many other places in town that allow you to sit around and play Keno all day.  Just take a look in the Deli in the mall and you will see the regulars there drinking coffee and playing Keno.  Hopefully, people will use common sense when gambling and know when to hold and when to fold…

Well they did promise to bring in fine lounge style entertainment!!!

I suppose you don’t go to the mall, either?  With all the gambling happening there?

I agree that gambling is bad, especially for some people who don’t have a lot of money and seem to be drawn to it.  But if you’re not going to places that have gambling, then you’ll be avoiding a lot of places.  7-11?

no they have lotterys there… and scratch and wins…  :unamused:
and the bar is out… because most of them have that texas holdem stuff…
:unamused:

I went, It was kinda fun.  Im going next week to.  I lost 50$ but the people I was with won 100 each.

I liked it.
Restauraunt had good food (great presentation), great atmosphere, servers although new, were well trained and professional.
Lounge = good selection, comfortable, nice modern feel.
Large deck that looks like it could be nice in good weather.
Casino = not a big fan of VLT’s myself but there was a good selection if you’re into that sort of thing. I liked the blackjack simulator (especially the lingerie clad dealer that rotated through the line-up).LOL  :stuck_out_tongue:
Bingo section looks modern and will probably do well.
Once the conference/convention facilities are up and running, this place will give the Crest a run. Although Charlie’s lounge still has a cozier atmosphere.

For me, personally, it will be fun to have an alternative option for an evening of entertainment. Stopped in for short visit to check it out. Played 15 min of blackjack won a couple of bucks.
I will add that the one glaring issue I have with the gaming center is alcohol outside the lounge. I watched a gentelman take a full three minutes to declare hit or stand at the blackjack table. It wouldn’t have been so bad if he was weighing out his options but he was well juiced, with a beer in his hand conversing with his buddies completly oblivious to what was going on in the game.

Are you saying you are against mixing vices?

Yeah, man, there is nothing greater than sucking back a bucket of poutine and gambling while getting drunk and stoned, man.

Absolutly horrendous…that will start fights and squabbling…should be a time out on the table, or a button you push if you require more time.
I seen a guy play a 250 dollar hand then double…500 bucks,…

Alcohol is a staple at all casinos and gaming centers. Without alcohol no one would ever bet their entire paycheck on one hand of blackjack, or overdraw his/her checking account to continue playing slots.

To benefit those who might not know----Alcohol binds with gaba receptors in the brain. gaba is the brain’s break pedal. Alcohol combined with gaba cause more chloride ions to enter the reaction, making it more negative and reducing the likelihood of a successful shot through the brain cell. This affects the Cortex, and the Cortex is the part of the brain that (among other things) gives us our “I shouldn’t do that” feeling. However, since the alcohol and gaba have mixed, the reactions in the cortex are not happening as frequently as they should and we lose some of our basic functions, such as the ability to say “Nah, I can’t afford to bet my house on a pair of deuces”.

Well, duh!

You work, pay welfare, welfare pays chances, Chances pays _______?

. . . their many employees, their suppliers, and taxes.

Easiest fill-in-the-blank question I’ve seen in quite some time.

I think I’m hooked on the slots there.  They have this thing where you win up to a 100 free spins.  You can win so much by getting that.  I think that is what hooked me.

Bring 20$ to the casino, play 2 cent slots, 20 lines, 2 cents a line, Keep doing that till you double your money.  THEN QUIT!!!

The odds of you doubling your money a very good.  Don’t get tempted to keep playing.

Blackjack seems like a waste of money, or an easy way of doubling your money.

i  wslked out 94.50 up on the bj table last night
